Marketing Your Products on Facebook

I had to share this article with you guys as a part of my journey to building my own business.  Karen has some great advice on the best ways to use your facebook page as a business -

With Facebook as the ultimate social media hub with the most devoted users out there, it’s a no-brainer to advertise on such a platform. The site is a honey pot for marketers to successfully promote their products. Just because Facebook is perfect for targeted messages to their markets, doesn’t mean throwing up ads or a business page is pretty much money in the bank. It’s a lot more than that! Here are some marketing tips to get your products and services out there on the largest social media network.

Don’t Follow the Herd

Seriously!

How often have you seen wannabe marketers upload pictures of products they want to sell and simply tag pictures of people they know who might be potential customers? Their effort is there. However, they need to think a little more outside of the box. Do you seriously think you can create a money-making, marketing machine with such an ad campaign. No way!

Also, if you plan on paying for Facebook ad space, don’t copy exactly what your competitors are doing. Come up with your own ideas and split test. Sure, it may cost a lot of money at first, but you’ll see the benefits once you find the right combinations of images and ad copy.

Use Business and Fan Pages to Develop a Relationship with Your Customers

With Facebook business and fan pages, don’t just throw up your logo, contact information, and a few posts and leave it at that. Keep providing value in your posts with news items such as sales, discount codes, and information on upcoming products that may interest them. This’ll help grow your following, which in turn will result in more loyal customers willing to do business with you again.

When a follower posts a question or a comment, be prompt with a response. Show them that they’re not just another customer number. You want to make them feel special. This’ll easily set you apart from the competition.

Know Your Audience

Especially when utilizing the Facebook Ads platform, you need to know your audience. If you target too broad of an audience for your products and services, you’re pretty much pouring money down the drain. Conduct some research in the demographics of your previous sales. Then utilize that valuable information in the laser targeting features found in the Facebook Ads platform.

You’ll see higher clickthrough rates, which result in much cheaper clicks. Why is that? You’ll be generating more clicks, resulting in more money for Facebook. Think of it as a reward for you and your business. This way you’ll be able to have a higher return on investment with your marketing endeavors.
