Do You Have a Business You Are Trying to Market?

This is a new age, marketing is changing, small companies are succeeding against big brands, and customers are being asked what they want.  Having studied Marketing back in college (way before the internet really hit), these changes are extremely evident to me.  If you want to learn how you can compete against the big brands using social media, check out the giveaway at the end of this post.

Throughout my career I have sold many types of products and services, worked in retail, and even promoted small businesses.  Back then, it was all about the cold call and trying to get in front of the decision makers.  This involved a lot of traveling and time, in hope to be in the right place at the right time.  Today, social media has made this process more efficient and less costly in time and money.  I am so glad for the change!

Many businesses are turning to social media to hear their customers and learn what they want.  I recently saw a post on Mashable about fashion designers creating a poll for design ideas.  Customers were asked to choose which designs they liked best and that would be the one that went to production.  Finally!  No more wasting production costs and time on designs that don’t sell.  The new message is “give them what they want”, not “create it, they will come”.

If you are a small business and looking for a way to make a name for yourself or find your market, it is so much easier than before.  Now you can get on Twitter, Facebook, and FourSquare to find the decision makers and start showing them your genius.  No longer is it necessary for companies to be big and international to be on the web, FourSquare has made it possible to target your local markets.  The days of paid media are gone – these tools are FREE!  You just need to learn how to use them effectively.

I am offering you a chance to win two seats in a new web class just for small business owners, freelance writers, authors, photographers, and even bloggers.  The topic is how to use Social Media effectively to bring in the customers.  You will learn:

  • how to set up an attractive profile on each of the popular social media platforms.
  • the importance of using social media for your business
  • how to gain followers and referrals for your business
  • how to sell your products and services on these platforms
  • how to track your progress

This tele-class will be held in your home!  No need to make reservations in a hotel or travel to a location.  Grab a cup of coffee and listen in to build your social media marketing campaign.

The lucky winners will receive a free pass to all four seminars (worth $150) July 5, 12, 19, and 26th at 10am Pacific time.  If you want to register for the classes, please visit the New Media Marketing Event page to reserve your spot.

The giveaway will end June 27th at midnight EST!!
