I just finished a social media summit last month.  I learned a lot of great ideas to help boost your social media exposure.  One of the tips I wanted to share with you is how to gain more followers for your business pages.

Tip #1 – Joining the pages of groups that are within your target audience.  You can’t ask people to join your page using the identity of your business page, but you can comment on posts using your business identity.  So, what am I talking about?  Here are the steps to start commenting on facebook using your blog or business name :

1. Login to your personal facebook account.
2. Go to your business or blog promotional page.
3. In the menu options in the top right, just below the admins list, you will find the option – “Use facebook as ……”
4. Select this option.

   

Now for the building exposure, go to the page of some of your favorite community sites.  Start posting comments or interesting material, your identity will be your blog or business name.  As you are able to interact with more and more pages and their followers, you will be able to gain exposure and more followers.  One important thing to remember is to add to the conversations going on in the communities, don’t just post your site or promotional material.  Add value and others will want to follow your page as well.
