Feedback – How Are We Doing?

Author: We have been working on a lot of changes for the site. We wanted to get your feedback so far. Do you like the new format? Is it easy to read and find articles that you are interested in? I don’t love it. I think the logo at the top could be bigger, so we see the name of the site instead of kind of searching amongst the backdrop. The backdrop is certainly lovely, but it’s just too much tile–like the site is selling tiles/kitchen backsplashes).
The tabs across the top could be livelier, with a more engaging font. Same with the font used for the categories on the right side.
I do like the overall direction/format the site is taking on, but I think it could be more engaging/welcoming. It’s fairly subdued now–I feel like maybe I’m interrupting someone who is studying at the library, instead of walking into a welcoming conversation. Does that make sense? Something about the current color scheme/format doesn’t quite say, “Come on in and hang out for a while!” But I’m not sure what to suggest to achieve that feeling.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I appreciate the feedback. It is a HUGE help! I wasn’t sure whether to scrap it and go back to the original or enhance what I have started. I agree with your feedback 100%. I think that is what was bothering me so much too! I will get started on those suggestions. Thanks again!
