Feel Sorry For Me.com
Ever have one of those days where you just want to feel sorry for yourself? You don’t want anyone to make you feel better, you just want misery to be your company? I don’t have those days often, but sometimes they just creep in no matter how hard I try not to let it.
I am having one of those days today. I want to feel sorry for myself, because….
- I have to work from home every day. (But, I miss having to deal with all the traffic, coffee runs, and after-mexican lunch gas smells from my cubicle neighbor.)
- I have to work and don’t get time to ride my horses. (When there are so many unemployed people right now.)
- I hate cleaning my house. (when there are so many who are homeless or have lost their homes.)
- I have a beautiful daughter, who DRIVES ME CRAZY!
- I have a wonderful husband who supports me, but man is he annoying sometimes.
- I haven’t done anything with my life. (Except raise a child, save animals and help as many people as I can along the way)
- I don’t have big issues or life changing things going on right now (something must be wrong)…..
So, I am sure you are asking yourself – “WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU FEELING SORRY ABOUT?” Boo hoo, RIGHT?! I don’t know! I just feel like having my own pity party right now. I want to find something to be sad about for a little while, maybe I just want an excuse to have a glass of wine. Who knows?
I have been around a lot of people who live in this pity party state every day, I get so frustrated. I want to say “WAKE UP!” But in reality, I guess some days I want to feel that way too. Is it because we want attention? Did we not get enough attention as a child? What makes us focus on all of the negativity and not want to see the positive light? Is it self indulgent to just plain feel sorry for yourself sometimes? I guess that is why Psychologists make the big bucks. I was going to vote for a site that was “Feeling Sorry For Me.com” but it is already taken. Can you believe it? I guess I am not alone.
Why do people feel the necessity to focus on the negative and not the positive side of life? Is that what drives us to change? Maybe thinking we aren’t good enough as we are is what drives us to better our lives. Is this a necessary part of life to help us appreciate all of the good in our lives?
I don’t know, but I would love to hear what you have to say. I vote that once a year we all have a “Feel Sorry For Me” day, we could all get together and whine (wine) about our lives, even if it is just for a day!

Sometimes having that one-day pity party is all you need to get out of your funk and back to your positive life…go ahead and dive into it if you feel the need ( just remember the end product is breathing back into happiness)

Thank you for the great advice! You are right, I feel much better today. I just wish we could schedule these days, so they don’t catch us so off guard. I am seriously thinking we need a national “Feel Sorry For Yourself” day. It would have to be a day off work of course
