Our Mommyhood

I am sure some of you have noticed that something is different about Our Mommyhood.  You are right!  Things are changing here.  The great part is that they are changing for the better.  Due to some conflicts in schedules and other commitments, the previous editors handed over the reigns to me.  Betsy and Liz have created a beautiful, helpful and very insightful blog for moms, although they were unable to continue due to other conflicts.

My partner and I are excited to take over and hope to nurture this budding site into the beautiful flower we know it can be.  We both have been readers for over a year and even contributors from time to time.  When I heard that the site might be closing down, I called up my friend and suggested our taking it over.  We are both brand new to blogging, but have been on the outskirts helping other bloggers for over a year.  I have met many of you at conferences and probably have even talked to you via email.  Now is my time to join the ranks!

I am sure by now, you are thinking – “WELL!  Who are you?”  Currently we  not able to put a lot of information on the site about ourselves due to our current full time positions.  For now you can just think of us as “Friends”, but we will be able to divulge more information later on.  Many of the posts  here will not be written by only us, we hope to share the works of many of our favorite bloggers in the form of guest posters.

We would like to hear from you.  We would like to expand the topics covered and bring in more interests from different walks of life. What would you like to see on the site?  Here are some of our suggestions -

• Bringing back handmade – features on handmade crafting – knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, DIY projects etc.
• Celebrating women – inspiration, stories of powerful women, and interviews from different women of influence
• Family Therapists corner – positive parenting, bettering communication, seminars and even recommended books
• Product reviews and Giveaways – opportunities to win products that we love and are must haves for moms
• Deals – popular deals each week
• Blogging and SEO tips from some of the gurus

Our mission for the site is to create a place for you, the readers.  Not a place to read about one person, but to share in the joys of many different people.  We want a community in which we can celebrate all that makes us unique and powerful as moms and most of all women.  I have met some remarkable women in my life and I am very excited to be able to share their power here on this site.

The best I can say right now is that we are both moms and love hanging out and sharing stories.  We look forward to learning more about you!  Join us in creating this into a site for everyone to feel at home and share their talents.
