Please Help Me Go Shopping
By Tamara
Normally I don’t need help shopping. I am very capable of going to the store, spending way too much time there browsing around, and dropping too much cash before leaving with too many bags.
However, for this particular item, I need your help. What is it that I want to buy?
A smart phone.
Yes. That’s right. The girl who has 2.5 blogs (I count this as a half since Elizabeth and I co-created it), is on Twitter and Facebook a lot, and can’t live without checking her emails multiple times a day, does not yet have a smart phone.
I have been dragging my feet up to this point because I felt I didn’t need anything else to distract me from the kids. But alas, I have realized that a smart phone might be more helpful than harmful.
Why?
One reason is that I won’t have to lug around my laptop to conferences or other places. Ever done that? It hurts your back after awhile.
Another reason is that I will be going on a trip soon for the ConAgra Food’s “Child Hunger Campaign” I am a part of (details next week…you don’t want to miss that post!) and would like the ability to easily tweet out pictures and updates to you all.
So I caved. Decided to upgrade and pay the little bit extra for the smart phone. But now I need to decide which one! There are no short of a million smart phones out there, each with their pros and cons. Reading the reviews only makes your head spin, too. So I wanted to get your input, either from experience or reviews from those you know who own one.
I may have gotten inpatient by the time this post goes live and already bought one, but I still want your input just in case. So tell me this….
What smart phone should I buy and why?
Are there any I should avoid or ones I must have?
*If it matters, I use T-Mobile for service.

I wish I had an answer for this– I am still using an ancient, Zach Morris-esque phone!

Hands down- iPhone. The only problem is you use T-Mobile, so I guess that’s not an option. I adore my phone, would have it surgically attached to my hip if I could. It’s the best thing since sliced cheese, I am telling you.
I’m sorry but I’m no help either. I almost got a smart phone until they told hubby how much extra our bill would be a month and then it was a big fat no!
I just moved over to the smart phone side and went with Blackberry, the Curve. I like it a lot! Since this was my first try I went with the one my husband had since he knew it was a good one. I am very happy with it! I’m not a huge fan of the touch screen, so I steered clear of the iPhone.
I love love LOVE my BlackBerry Pearl. I’ve had it for three and a half years, and have no complaints! I love the tiny, compact keyboard.
My SO, however, hated his because he has big man hands, and went with the Curve instead – also a great phone.
I personally HATE iPhones. It’s not the phones fault, but instead some of their pretentious owners.
I have a Palm Treo, which I love and James has a Blackberry Curve, which he loves. I pretty much use mine for tweeting from the salon, checking my email, and texting my mother, so I’m probably not the best person to review the pros and cons. I kind of just picked the cutest one…
My hubby has the Blackberry Curve and likes it a lot. I’ve used it when it isn’t attached to him and like it too (I am just too cheap to pay the big bucks to have 2 plans for the crackberry!)
Go play with them get a feel …buy the battery upgrade…seriously they all have some battery life issues ALL SMART PHONES ….I recently went shopping and I am still researching it but I think I am going with the HTC Touch Pro 2 or the HTC Hero!
HTC Hero is the best phone I’ve ever had!
I have used an Iphone, Blackberry Curve, and Blackberry Tour. My fave is the Tour and my second fave is the Curve. I could live without the Iphone honestly. Besides the apps, I wasn’t all that thrilled with it.
I use the Blackberry Curve now but I am trading it in in June for the new iPhone 4g!!!
